Pat uses all-natural fibres and age-old techniques to weave these beautiful and functional heirloom pieces. Pat Robertson began studying textiles and design as part of her B.Sc. in Home Economics from the University of Manitoba. During the 30-plus years she taught art and family studies, Pat painted. Moving to a farm outside Walter’s Falls in 1987 stimulated a new creative emphasis and Pat switched to basketry. Along with gardening and caring for assorted birds, including peacocks, guinea hens and chickens, Pat has expanded from reed baskets to cultivated and wild willow baskets, still focusing on traditional, utilitarian designs. |
